Organic Marketing Solutions

What does organic mean when you are talking about internet marketing, or marketing your home based business online?  Simply put it means not paying for it.  Whether you are talking about advertising or traffic, or the consumer that clicks on the buy now button, if you got it free it's organic.

As in regular life, where organic is considered healthier and better for you, organic in business marketing has a certain amount of clout.  If you can accomplish what you set out to do organically then obviously you have more money in your pocket when the day is done.

For many of us just starting out organic is a necessary alternative.  Most of us don't have money to fork out on something we don't know will work.  So if you are building on a budget looking at ways to build your home based business on the internet organically has its benefits.

Marketing on a Budget

  • Blog, blog, blog!  Blogging is probably one of the most fun ways to market your business, opportunity, or cause.  Why is that?  Because you can be you.  As a matter of fact the more you you are the better, because people buy from people.  You have the flexibility to create a blog that truly reflects who you are and what you stand for.  You can put pictures, slide shows, videos, graphs - you name it.  Your blog is yours.

  • Article Marketing requires knowledge of your subject.  The better your information the more reads you'll get.  People are out there looking for answers, looking for creativity, fresh ideas, something they haven't heard before.  Reach expert status in article marketing and you've got traffic and a badge that says "I'm an expert in my field."

  • Press Releases are incredible the way they get you traffic forever it seems.  It can be tough writing as you have to write about yourself in the third person, and some people may have difficulty tooting their own horn.  But Google loves a good press release and they stay out in cyber space forever.  I still get people signing up on my list from a press release I wrote months ago.  Take the time, sit down and write a press release.  There are free options that work.  That's what I did.  If you want to invest a few dollars the pay-off will be bigger.

  • Forums are more social in nature.  Find one that is popular and gets a lot of participation.  Watch for awhile and get a feel for the different topics, and if you are moved to reply, do so.  Make sure your experience is personal and you know what you're talking about.  And don't be afraid of being controversial.  Controversy draws attention.  That's what you want right?

  • Social Marketing - I saved the best for last.  Why is this one so good.  Because it is really in the lime light right now.  All the social marketing sites are competing with one another trying to out do each other in features.  Here is another area that you can get creative and really let your personality show.  You can make valuable connections in all the social sites:

    • Twitter

    • My Space

    • Facebook

    • FriendFeed

    • YouTube

    • The list goes on.

    Best Home Based Business Practices

    Squeeze Pages

    How you convince
    your prospect to freely
    give you their contact information

Have you ever been stumped as to how you get people to your website? TRAFFIC, TRAFFIC, TRAFFIC! Without traffic you're dead in the water right?

Isn't that what all the gurus scream at you. But then, once you get the traffic to your website, what then? Even if you are only getting 100 hits to your website a day, if none of those 100 people either buy from you or give you their contact information then what good are they. You can't ever talk to them. You can't build a relationship with them. You can't invite them to try a new product, or check out this new resource, or look at this great opportunity. You just have to rely on getting them to your website again and again and again! How fun is that?

    Not!

So once you get the prospect to your website, by blogging or news releases, or article marketing - whatever method you choose. Then what?

    **SQUEEZE PAGES**

Squeeze pages identify your prospects problem and shows them specifically how you are going to solve their problem. It even offers them some small way to help them solve their problem for free - a free e-book, report,
e-course. Something that will make it worth them giving you their oh so valuable contact information.

Now you are not just going to give them their free information without checking to make sure that their contact information is good or not. That's where your auto responder comes in. They opt in for your information and the auto responder sends them a verification email. If they don't get that email (because of a bad email address) or they don't opt in for more information, then they are not going to get your free information - because that is also set up in your auto responder.

    Does that make sense?

Content, content, content is King. If you haven't been blogging, or writing press releases, or doing article marketing, you haven't taken the first step yet. You're still stuck at the starting block. But that is only the beginning.

The squeeze page is the next most important step to setting up your home based business for success.

    Typical Squeeze Page Layout

    Your Headline Goes
Here.  It Needs To State Your
Prospects Problem And May Be Several Lines Long.

THIS IS WHERE YOUR FORM GOES
ASK FOR THEIR NAME AND PRIMARY EMAIL ADDRESS

Make sure your capture form is above the fold.
It is best to not have to scroll to see the capture form.

Privacy statements are standard on capture pages.  But don't use them if you are not going to abide by them.

    Avoid the Scams...

When faced with all the opportunities available on the internet and in your inbox, how do you decide which are the legitimate opportunities and which are not? We all know the world is full of people out to take advantage of anyone they can lure into their opportunity with promises of quick and easy riches. The internet is no different.

So how do you tell when you have a legitimate opportunity? That's what we are going to discuss in this lesson.

I myself have been scammed more than once for sizeable sums of money. The first time was a painful lesson, but the second time I just had to shake my head at myself. It's pretty bad when you get so desperate that you don't pay attention to all the red flags flying in your face. How does the old saying go? "Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me..."

No matter how smart you think you are there is always someone smarter. You can never be too careful about this, but don't allow fear to be your master.

Personally, I don't believe most business opportunities are scams. If you can identify a product, particularly in Network Marketing then you probably have a legitimate business opportunity. But do your homework. Be an informed consumer. Check out the company and talk to the people involved. Check with the FTC. If it sounds to good to be true, too pie in the sky, then it warrants further investigation.  And just cause it's legitimate doesn't mean it's a sound business opportunity.

Don't part with your hard earned cash until you know the opportunity is real and something you know you are capable of duplicating. If you can't afford to support the business for a time then don't get involved thinking you are going to be an overnight success. A real opportunity takes time and effort to be successful.

Probably the best part of internet marketing is the ability to get to know a person before you do business with them.  This relationship is one you will learn to treasure as it works both ways.  Remember that as you hone your skills at internet marketing you will be working at building those same relationships with your own customers.
